Our Favorite - Air Tags
Have you ever heard about Air Tags? If you have had lost or delayed luggage when travelling, then you might want to consider using Apple’s Air Tags. These are very easy to use products that you attach to the inside of your luggage. All you have to do is connect them to your iPhone in a couple of easy to follow steps and you are ready to go stress free. You can use the "Find My" app on your phone to track your luggage but the best part of this product is that it sends you notifications when you and your luggage are separated as well. No more wondering if you will ever see your belongings again so you have peace of mind when travelling, especially internationally!
Mom, Shannon and I all use Air Tags and, if you want a more stress-free travel experience, try using Air Tags!
Sherri's Favorite - Teva
Loving my tevas!! Because of my long narrow feet I have trouble finding comfortable sandals for getting around in. Luckily I have found the Teva brand to work great for me. They have adjustments at the ankle as well as over the toe area so are pretty much customizable to any foot size or shape. The sole is rugged enough for hiking excursions but with this sandal you also get the additional benefit of open and cool comfort. I can wear them with shorts, capris and even casual dresses. For me versatility goes a long way and these sandals really fit the bill.
Mom's Favorite Walking Stick
It’s been a few years now since I have felt a little unstable with walking any distance and on unstable ground. On the recent visit to the Saguaro National Park near Tucson, Arizona, right away I noticed that most people were using walking, (hiking), sticks to manage the walking part of the tour. Luckily, there was a shop on site that carried a large selection and I felt so relieved. Now I am comfortably using that stick for help with outdoor walking everywhere and I can depend on it to keep me feeling secure. It’s very light metal, is easily adjustable to stow away for travel if you need to, and has a comfortable grip. It’s much more versatile than a cane or walking stick. I am taking it with me on my travels and when I feel like taking a short walk around the neighborhood. One more thing to add to my “comfort zone”! If you feel like you need a little extra support when exploring or walking around, I would recommend you checking into a light-weight metal walking stick.
Shannon's Favorite "Grand Canyon – The Complete Guide" by James Kaiser
If you want to read one of the most interesting and comprehensive books on the Grand Canyon then you need to check out “Grand Canyon – The Complete Guide” by James Kaiser. We used the guide when in the Grand Canyon and it was a terrific reference and also helped us learn more about the Canyon for our podcasts. If you are going to travel to the Grand Canyon, or just want to learn more about it, check out this excellent book!
Mom's Favorite - Hoka Shoes
After years of putting up with sports shoes that disappointed, I have finally found my dream pair. Sports shoes are supposed to be the epitome of comfort right? I thought so but with my past experience, none quite measured up.
Finding the right size was the initial problem. All of them seemed to vary from one manufacturer to another. My biggest complaint was that after wearing them for any length of time, they became less comfortable. I associated that with the fact that my feet seem to swell from morning to night; not an uncommon problem I am sure.
A year ago I was planning a trip that asked for substantial walking shoes; shoes that would give me the long-term comfort I needed. It was easy to determine that my foot comfort would be essential for this trip if I were to enjoy myself.
With my decision that upping my expectations also might mean increasing the cost, I started looking in stores that were up a pay grade. I tried several before settling on the Hoka brand suggested by my daughter and a helpful salesperson. Yes, I did increase my shoe size by half a size and that helped.
All day in the Hokas presented no problems or complaints; only comfort. They were comfortable for as long as I wore them and allowed plenty of room for a little swelling while distance walking. Plus, they are a very well constructed shoe and I love the color selection! Gone are the days when I shied away from wearing my sport shoes because I knew they would become uncomfortable. I am a Hoka believer!!
Sherri's Favorite - Neutrogena Ultra Sheer
We all know that when traveling to a sunny location we are going to need to bring along a good sunscreen. Sunscreen is needed whenever the UV index is 3 or above to reduce your risk of developing skin cancer. It’s the UV, not the temperature that causes skin damage so you can also be exposed to damaging levels of UV on cool and cloudy days as well.

Personally I am no fan of applying greasy, sticky sunscreen products especially to my face. Although I can handle a little more of that nastiness on the rest of my body, for my face I want a non-greasy comfortable product especially if I am outside and know that I will need to re-apply the product during the day. I have tried a lot of different brands, especially the ones touted for their UV protection.
For my face I have found none to be better than Neutrogena Ultra Sheer dry-touch sunscreen, a broad spectrum SPF 70 that is also the #1 dermatologist recommended brand. It goes on light and dry so you still feel clean. I love it. It is also reasonably priced especially compared to the high-end products on the market.
Once you try it I think you’ll agree that you don’t need to look any further for a comfortable and effective sunscreen product. Best tip is to wear this everyday to protect your skin.
Shannon's Favorite - Oofos Sandals
When it comes to comfortable footwear, Oofos sandals stand out as a game-changer and I can’t imagine travelling without them. These
revolutionary sandals are specially designed to provide unparalleled support and comfort for feet, and they absolutely deliver on both counts.
About two years ago, I broke my ankle and had to have two ankle surgeries. I now need comfort and stability for my ankle and Oofos
sandals are the perfect solution for me. They are designed with built-in arch support but are also incredibly soft and light. I notice a significant difference in comfort and stability when I wear the Oofos sandals versus others. I
have two pairs of Oofos sandals, their original model and slides. I can wear them all day, because they are the most comfortable footwear options I have. If you are looking for more support and comfort in your sandals, I would encourage you to try Oofos!
